My first contracting role was with Barrick Gold Corporation within the newly opened BHP Building in Perth working with the APAC IT team as well as a visiting technician to their old Quayside on Mill location.

Day to day my tasks included:

• Adding, modifying and removing accounts in Active Directory and Exchange
• Hardware Management
• Remote Software Deployment
• Avamar Backup Checking
• Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager - For polling Hardware and Software on computers under local authority
• Internal and Vendor Negotiation services - When an issue is something that we can't fix we work with others to help see through the problem resolution
• Projects including decommissioning Windows XP and older hardware not compatible with Windows 7 as well as moving users IT equipment across from our older building

Software used within the business were such as BMC, Office Communicator (Lync), Bomgar - Remote Access and Cisco bound products.
